Mission Statement

JESUS FIRST, WE ARE FAMILY, WHAT WE CAN DO DEPENDS ON YOU
“THE MISSION OF ST. JOAN OF ARC PARISH IS TO PUT JESUS FIRST IN OUR LIVES BY SEEKING TO KNOW HIM IN SCRIPTURE, ENCOUNTERING HIM IN PRAYER, CELEBRATING HIS PRESENCE AMONG US IN PRAISE AND WORSHIP AND UNITING WITH ONE ANOTHER IN LOVING SERVICE.”

We, the parish members of St. Joan of Arc, are conscious of the mandate of Jesus, that we must love one another as he has loved us (John 13:34). It is the measure of all that we do as a community of people dedicated to the love and service of Christ. In order that Jesus be first in our lives, we need to foster the practice of prayer, personal and communal and in particular regular participation in the Eucharist. Liturgy becomes an integral part of our lives when we share God’s holy Scriptures and celebrate the Holy Eucharist at Mass. As we are nourished by the Body and Blood of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and empowered by his Holy Spirit, we are called to become one body and one spirit in Christ. As parish members, we should minister to one another at every opportunity, so that we may build and strengthen our UNITY as a parish in the Holy Catholic Faith. We invite and encourage all members of our parish to become active and participate in our parish ministries. Each ministry is unique and provides for the involvement of inexperienced and experienced parishioners in the many different parts of Church operations, as part of our ongoing program of serving our Lord. The recruiting and commissioning of people to support the ministries is one of the most important parts of our mission. If you wish to know more about your faith as a Catholic, become involved in a ministry and you will learn. Support of our Church is vital for providing the service and extension of ministering to the poor, the sick, the alienated and the homebound. Stewardship provides the important financial means that in turn allow the church to do the things it could not otherwise do, by providing the administration and support items that are essential in fulfilling the ongoing needs of our Church’s mission. We urge all parishioners to do what they can to provide this need and to be good stewards of the Church. “Children, love must not be a matter of theory or talk; it must be true love which shows itself in action.” (1 John 3:18)
