A CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY OF SAINT JOAN OF ARC PARISH

August 19, 1988 – Father Michael T. O’Brien is assigned to the new unnamed Hernando County Parish in southeastern Spring Hill.

November, 1988 – Bishop Larkin names the new parish  St. Joan of Arc.

November 26, 1988 – St. Joan of Arc parish holds its first Mass at the Knights of Columbus Hall #6383.

May, 1989 – Ground breaking ceremony for St. Joan of Arc Church Building.

November, 1989 – Construction begins. May 29, 1990- Dedication and Blessing of the New Church Building and Beginning of Liturgy in the New Sanctuary.

October 26, 1992 – Father Anthony D’Angelo is appointed new Pastor of St. Joan of Arc.

October 1, 1996 – The launch of the New Beginnings Building Program.

January 19, 1998 – Fr. Marciano G. Martin appointed new Pastor of St. Joan of Arc.

August 13, 1998-Father Marciano Martin officially installed as Pastor by Bishop Robert Lynch.

November 26, 1998 – Tenth Anniversary of Parish.

March, 1999 – Construction begins on Parish Hall.

August 27, 2000 – Parish Family Hall Dedication and Opening Ceremony-

July 1, 2001 – Father Raymond F. O’ Neill appointed new Pastor of St. Joan of Arc.

January 18, 2002-Parish family is saddened by the Passing of Father Marciano.

June 16, 2002 – St. Joan of Arc Parish Family Hall is redesignated in Honor of Father Marciano G. Martin, “a friend of all”.

September 22, 2002 – Father Raymond O’Neill is officially installed as Pastor of St. Joan of Arc by Bishop Robert Lynch.

October, 2003 – our new stained glass windows are installed as a result of the “Parish Enhancement Society” which was started earlier in the year.

November 22, 2003 – the Parish celebrates its 15 year anniversary with a party in the Parish Family Hall.

December 22, 2003 – new Stations of the Cross are installed in the Church, further evidence of the wonderful support to the Parish Enhancement Society.

July 15, 2014 – Fr. Patrick Rebel was installed as the newest Pastor of St. Joan of Arc Parish.
